Apophysis2.04 Tutorial by nemopaice Apophysis2.04 Tutorial by nemopaice
I went with html for this tutorial because it was faster for me that way and I have had zero sleep in two days (nothing new)
Anyway I really wanted to get this done tonight so here it is.

A tutorial on hearts in Apo. 2.04beta. Based on the kind of Hearts I have been doing in my gallery lately.
Psion005's "Hole in my Alien Heart" was what inspired me to start doing these hearts to begin with. So I just want to say thanks to him for giving me that inspiration.

how do you use the code that comes in the readme?

Highlight the code, copy to your clipboard and paste it in the viewer window. You should be able to just right click and paste like you would anything else, but if not then just go edit/paste

*sigh* I couldnt follow any of this. I d/l the newest version today and I couldnt find any of the settings in the tutorial, and the suggestion on crisping the images...well my 'options' didnt have the 'no transparency' setting at all. I think I need the "Apophysis for First Graders"!

I'm still using an older version, but I'll download the newest one today and take a look. If there are significant changes, I'll rewrite this to make it doable in the newest version.

I do like it. Just keep playing with it and you will get some great results, even if you delve out of the heart range a little.

Thanks for the tutorial - I've been playing with hearts since I read this!

Only problem is that, no matter what I try, I can't get them as clear and noise-free as yours!...

You're welcome.
As for the noise, I render at quality=2000, and oversample=1 jpg's. Also you can adjust your gama and contrast and all that. It helps sometimes too.

Did you make sure you set the linear variation on triangle one to 0? And are you using the negative numbers on the other two triangles?

Also if you can take a screen capture and save it to imageshack or photo bucket and give a link to it, I might be able to tell from what your image looks like at the moment.
